Deposit THERE ARE 4 SHAFTS, 2 OF WHICH ARE ABOUT 100 FT. DEEP. THERE ALSO DRIFTS SEVERAL HUNDRED FT. LONG. THE VEIN IS THE SECOND BACK VEIN, WHICH IS 5 TO 14 FT. WIDE, AND DIPS ABOUT 55 DEGR SOUTH. THE MAGNETITE ORE AVERAGES 45 % IRON IN THE UPPER LEV AND 50 TO 55 % IRON IN THE DEEPER LEVELS. THIS MINE WAS WORK DRIFTING ALONG THE VEIN AND THEN STOPING. PRODUCTION WAS ABO 60000 TO 65000 TONS OF ORE. SEE ALSO JOBST, WIEAND, MOYER, AND EMAUS IRON ORE CO.S MINES
