Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THE SOURCES OF ORE ARE APPROXIMATELY ONE-THIRD FROM EACH OF THREE SOURCES: THE BRADWELL MOOR VEIN MINE SYSTEM, MOSTLY SALLET HOLE UNDERGROUND MINE; THE OPEN PIT MINES IN THE MATLOCK AREA; AND THE TRIBUTOR SOURCES, CONSISTING OF SIX TO TWELVE SMALL OPERATORS. M1C1=M9C4. RESERVES ESTIMATE BY LAPORTE MINERALS MANAGEMENT. Q4= Q2+Q3 Q4 = Q2 (SALLET HOLE) + Q3 (MILLDAM MINE) GRADE IS AVERAGED FROM THE TWO DEPOSITS.
  • ACID AND METALLURGICAL GRADE FLUORSPAR, LEAD, BARITE MUD AND SAND/GRAVEL
  • MUCH OF THE RESERVES OF THE DISTRICT HAVE CONSISTED OF STOPE FILL FROM OLD LEAD MINING ON WHICH NO GOOD RECORDS WERE KEPT, IN MANY CASES DATING BACK TO ROMAN TIMES.

Comments on other economic factors

  • THE MILL SITE AND MINE SITES ARE ALL WITHIN THE PEAKS NATIONAL PARK, SO THAT VERY STRICT RESTRICTIONS HAMPER SITING OF ROADS, PONDS AND THE APPEARANCE OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES. BUILDING APPEARANCES MUST CONFORM TO 17TH CENTURY (OR EARLIER) STONE STYLES, AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE, AND OLD STONE FENCES MAY NOT BE DISTURBED. REVEGETATION IS REQUIRED AROUND ALL MINING SITES AND TAILING STORAGE PONDS.
