Comments on the production information

  • THE RUDNANY I MINE PRODUCES COPPER AND MERCURY CONCENTRATES. THE HEAD GRADES OF THE ORE FROM THE RUDNANY I MINE CONSISTED OF 23.19 PERCENT IRON, .182 PERCENT COPPER, AND .016 PERCENT MERCURY FOR THE YEAR 1989. CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION FOR THE YEAR 1989 AMOUNTED TO APPROXIMATELY 5,660 METRIC TONS OF COPPER-MERCURY CONCENTRATE. THE GRADES OF THE CONCENTRATE FOR THE YEAR 1989 WERE 19.73 PERCENT COPPER, 6.76 PERCENT ANTIMONY, 1.95 PERCENT MERCURY, AND .23 PERCENT BISMUTH. THE FLOTATION RECOVERY RATE WAS 83.7 PERCENT FOR COPPER AND 93.7 PERCENT FOR MERCURY. THE 1992 MINING ANNUAL REVIEW ESTIMATES THAT THE TOTAL COPPER ORE PRODUCTION FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTRY OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA, FOR THE YEAR 1991, WAS 580,000 METRIC TONS.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • SEE ALSO RUDNANY II MINE 4350200030. RUDNANY I MINE IS PLANNED TO CLOSE BY 1995 DUE TO THE VERY LOW GRADE OF THE ORE IT PRODUCES. THE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN GOVERNMENT IS CONSIDERING SOME RENOVATION TO RECOVER IRON IN A JOINT VENTURE WITH AN "ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN" FIRM. UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH, THERE ARE ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS OVER THE MERCURY PRODUCED FROM THE MINE.
