  • IT IS THOUGHT THAT THE MONT KLAHOYO IRON FORMATIONS WERE DEPOSITED CHEMICALLY IN A VOLCANIC ENVIRONMENT AS A SILICEOUS IRON FORMATION WITH VOLCANISM THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF IRON AND SILICA. METAMORPHISM CONVERTED THE SILICEOUS IRON FORMATION TO A COARSE-GRAINED, QUARTZ-MAGNETITE- SILICATE IRON FORMATION.
