Comments on other economic factors

  • THE SHAFTS ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO COMPARTMENTS; ONE HOISTS ORE, WHILE THE OTHER HOISTS ORE IN HOPPERS. THE OREBODY IS WEAK IN PLACES AND REQUIRES TOP SLICING AND SAND BACKFILL. ELSEWHERE, SHRINKAGE MINING IS USED. CRU REPORTS THE 1980 COST OF MINING WAS LEV 25.3/MT ORE.
  • ALL LEAD CONCENTRATES ARE SENT TO THE DIMITUR BLAGOEV SMELTER. SOME OF THE ZINC CONCENTRATES ARE ALSO SENT TO DIMITUR BLAGOEV AND SOME ARE SENT TO THE GEORGI DIMITROV SMELTER. IT IS UNCERTAIN WHERE THE PYRITE CONCENTRATES ARE SENT, BUT THEY ARE PROBABLY SENT TO THE DIMITROVGRAD CHEMICAL WORKS AS ARE THE CONCENTRATES FROM ERMA REKA.
