Comments on the reserve resource information

  • 1/89 INSITU DEMO. TONNAGE = MODELLED BASED ON 2 OREBODIES, EACH 5 M THICK, 100M IN STRIKE LENGTH AND 50 M ON-DIP. 100 % REC.
  • FOR ANALYSIS: 20,000 MTPY ROM FOR: 9,000 MTPY LUMP PRODUCTS AND 9,000 MTPY FINES PRODUCTS; ALL PRODS.AT 44.0 % CR2O3. PRODS. ANALYZED AS CHROMITE METS FOR EXPORT IN STUDY (NON-PRODUCING, NO ROOM AT KWE KWE SMELTER). PODIFORM RESOURCE. INDICATED TO BE AT SHALLOW DEPTH.
  • THERE IS NO PUBLISHED DATA AVAILABLE ON ANY ASPECT OF THE IRON TON CHROMITE OCCURANCES. IT APPEARS FROM PAST PRO- DUCTION RECORDS THAT PRODUCTION WAS EITHER FROM SMALL ADITS, OR MAY HAVE BEEN FROM SMALL SURFACE OPERATIONS. IT IS INFERRED FROM ANNOUNCED PLANS, HOWEVER, THAT THE SIZE OF THE PLANNED OPERATION AT IRON TON WOULD BE IN THE 20,000 TO 30,000 MT PER YEAR RANGE, WHICH WOULD PROBABLY BE TOO LARGE FOR A SURFACE OPERATION IN THE SELUKWE DISTRICT. IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE SIZE OF THE DEMONSTRATED RESOURCE AT IRON TON WOULD BE IN A RANGE COMPARABLE TO THE OTHER NEW OPERATIONS PLANNED (MAGAZINE HILL- SEQ. # 796-025-0027) OR ABOUT 667,000 MT, WHICH WOULD INDICATE AN OREZONE OF 300 M. IN LENGTH, 7 M. THICK, AND 80 M. EXTENSION DOWN DIP (ALL ACCESS- IBLE BY ADITS). M1C3=M9C4.
