Deposit A GRAB SAMPLE OF THE MASSIVE ORE ANALYZED 46% CR2O3 AND A CL CONCENTRATE ANALYZED 58% CR2O3 THE CR FE RATIO WAS 2.25:1.0 S102 WAS .70% IN THE CLEANED CONCENTRATE ANALYSIS THEREBY MA THE CHROMITE CHEMICAL GRADE THIS MINE WAS ONE OF THE LARGEST CHROMITE PRODUCERS IN THE U THIS MINE WAS MOST ACTIVE DURING THE 1870S REC 070 ADDITIONAL MINERALS INCLUDE KAMMERERITE AND CHROMIAN ORITE REC 080 COLS 15 18 THE ORE BODIES WERE PROBABLY MASSIVE CHRO IN THE CENTER GRADING INTO DISSEMINATED ORE NEAR THE EDGES REC 080 COLS 23 25 THE ORE BODIES AT THE REED MINE CONSISTED SEVERAL LENSES OR SACK LIKE FORM BODIES OF CHROMITE THAT APP HAVE ECHELONED NORTHWEST REC 080 COLS 63 68 THE REED BROS SEEMED TO RECALL A BAND OF ITE IN THE BOTTOM OF A 100 FT DRIFT ON THE FORTY FOOT LEVEL WAS 3 FT WIDE AND IN PLACES WIDENED TO 16 FT USGS BULL 1082 THE SURFACE WORKINGS CONSIST OF A SHAFT AND SEVERAL SERIES O CUTS PROSPECT PITS AND TRENCHES SPREAD OVER AN EXTENSIVE ARE IMMEDIATELY SOUTHEAST OF THESE OPENINGS IS A SERPENTINE QUAR .
