Comments on the geologic information

  • THE ANDESITE AND QTZ. DIORITE OCCUR BOTH AS HOST ROCKS FOR THE ORE MINERALS AND AS BARREN WASTE ROCK. THE BASALT OCCURS AS AUGITE PORPHYRY BASALT THAT IS BARREN, AND AS DARK BASALT DIKES, SOME OF WHICH ARE MINERALIZED. ABOUT 90% OF THE MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN ANDESITE, SPECIFICALLY, THE GREEN AND FRAGMENTAL TYPES. SHAPE OF ORE BODY- THE MAIN ORE ZONE HAS A BASIN-LIKE SHAPE, AND THE ADJOINING BRECCIA ORE ZONE IS TABULAR. THE DIMENSIONS OF THE MINERALIZATION ARE APPROXIMATE BECAUSE OF THE FAIRLY EXTREME IRREGULARITY OF THE ORE BODY IN PLAN VIEW. THE MINERALIZATION IN BOTH THE MAIN ORE ZONE AND IN THE BRECCIA ORE ZONE STRIKES ROUGHLY NORTH-SOUTH, AND THE BRECCIA ZONE MINERALIZATION DIPS STEEPLY TO THE EAST. THE DIP OF THE MINERALIZATION IN THE MAIN ORE ZONE CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS BASIN-LIKE.
