Deposit WORKERS ARE STRIKING AT ALL SURALCO OPERATIONS BECAUSE OF WAGE DISAGREEMENTS. AFTER THE GOVERNMENT APPROVED A NEW EXCHANGE RATE FOR BAUXITE PRODUCERS IN JANUARY 1993, ENERGY AND GASOLINE PRICES HAVE SOARED, THE LATTER BY AROUND 500%. WORKERS ARE ASKING FOR A 100% RAISE.
