  • DUE TO THE LOW-GRADE ILMENITE, SOME OF THE ILMENITE CONC. WILL UPGRADED TO A TITANIUM SLAG. PROPOSED PRODUCTION LEVELS ARE 84,000 MT ILMENITE, 47,000 MT TITANIUM SLAG (75% TIO2), AND 25,000 MT PIG IRON CONC. THE BENEFICIATION PLANT IS PLANNED TO HAVE A 4 MILLION TPA THROUGHPUT CAPACITY.

Deposit A LOW-GRADE ILMENITE (40-42% TIO2) DEPOSIT LOCATED NEAR THE CITY OF ZLATOUST. THE OPERATION IS SCHEDULED TO COME ON-LINE IN 1996. IN APRIL 1994, A TEST BATCH OF ILMENITE AND TITANOMAGNETITE ORE WAS REFINED SUCCESSFULLY. DEVELOPMENT TO BE CARRIED OUT IN TWO STAGES. THE FIRST SECTION WILL HAVE A DESIGN CAPACITY OF 1 MILLION TONS, OUT OF AN OVERALL DESIGN CAPACITY OF 5.5 MILLION MT. THE SECTION WILL BE ON LINE BY 2000. DEPOSIT IS LOCATED NEAR TOWNS OF KUSA AND ZLATOUST.
