IN 1976 THE PLANT WAS UNDERGOING CAPACITY EXPANSION TO 70000 TONNES PER YEAR IN 1977. ADDITIONAL CAPACITY EXPANSION TO 140000 TONNES PER YEAR IS EXPECTED IN 1980. SMELTER FEED IS SUPPLIED BY CIA MINERA DE CANANEA OPEN PIT MINE. THE PYRO-REFINERY WAS PHASED OUT. THE BLISTER COPPER IS REFINED AT COBRE DE MEXICO IN MEXICO CITY. ALL PRODUCTION ARE FLISTER CU. ALL UNITS ARE IN MT PER YEAR. FEED TO THE PLANT IS CONCENTRATE.
