Deposit RST INTL IS A SUBSIDARY OF AMAX. ZAMBIAN COPPER INVESTMENT IS A SUBSIDARY OF ANGLO-AMERICAN. THE MINE WAS FIRST KNOWN AS THE ROAN ANTELOPE MINE. MINE DISCOVERED 1902; DEVELOPMENT BEGUN 1927;PRODUCTION 1931 CU CONCS. ARE SMELTED AT LUANSHYA, REFINING IS AT NDOLA, 28 KM TO THE NORTH. LUANSHYA PLAGUED BY THIN ORE BODY AND POOR GROUND CONDITIONS NECESSITATING HIGH DEVELOPMENT FOOTAGE PER TON ORE TOGETHER WITH SUPPORT AND ORE DILUTION PROBLEMS.
Deposit Deposit type is Reduced-facies copper, ore-shale style.
