Comments on the geologic information

  • LENGTH IS AT LEAST 914 M (3000 FT), AND THICKNESS IS AT LEAST 244 M (800 FT). THE MCCABE DEPOSIT IS LOCATED IN A PRECAMBRIAN VOLCANIC SEQUENCE CONSISTING LARGELY OF ANDESITE, ANDESITIC TUFFS, AND THE SPUD MOUNTAIN BRECCIA. THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF 3 VEIN SYSTEMS OF WHICH THE 2 MAJOR VEINS STRIKE IN A N55-65(DEGREES)E & N35-40(DEGREES)E DIRECTION AND DIP 75-80 DEGREES SE. THE AVERAGE VEIN THICKNESS IS 1.22 M WITH A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 1 METER. THE GOLD AND SILVER OCCUR IN THE COPPER & IRON SULFIDES AND IN THE QUARTZ-SERICITE BRECCIA. "ANDESITE" IS ACTUALLY A META-ANDESITE BRECCIA, AND IS THE HOST ROCK FOR THE VEIN, WHICH IS BANDED QUARTZ. THE TUFF IS ALSO A HOST ROCK FOR THE VEIN.
