  • IN 1995, SOUTH ATLANTIC STARTED ITS 1995 PHASE TWO DIAMOND EXPLORATOIN PROGRAM. THE FIRST PHASE, COMPLETED IN 1994, RESULTED IN THE DISCOVERY OF 33 KIMBERLITE BODIES, 16 OF WHICH WERE SAMPLED AND MICROPROBED FOR INDICATOR MINERALS. THREE OF THE TARGETS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED TO CONTAIN MICRO-DIAMONDS. A GROUND MAGNETIC SURVEY HAS BEEN COMPLETED ON TEH EXPLORATION CONCESSIONS ALONG THE SANTO ANTONIO RIVER IN THE COROMANDEL PROJECT AREA. A TOTAL OF 78 MAGNETIC ANOMALIES HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED WITHIN A 50 SQ KM AREA. TEN CORRESPOND TO KNOWN INTRUSIVE BODIES INCLUDING TWO RECENTLY CONFIRMED BY THE ONGOING DRILLING PROGRAM. EIGHT HAVE BEEN SAMPLED FOR MICRO-DIAMONDS.

  • SOUTH ATLANTIC HAS AGREED TO FORM A JOINT VENTURE WITH MYLAN VENTURES LTD TO DEVELOP THE PLACER OPERATION. MYLAN WILL ACQUIRE AN UNDIVIDED 60% INTEREST IN AND TO THE ALLUVIAL MINERAL RIGHTS IN RETURN FOR FINANCING THE PRODUCTION PROJECT. MYLAN HAS THE RIGHT TO ACQUIRE A 60% INTEREST BY DEVELOPING AND MANAGING AN ALLUVIAL MINING OPERTATION INCLUDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ALLUVIAL PLANT TO MINE DIAMONDS, MINERALS, METALS AND GRAVEL. MYLAN SHALL BE THE OPERATOR. IF MYLAN FAILS TO PUT THE CONCESSIONS INTO PRODUCTION BY DECEMBER 31 [1996], SOUTH ATLANTIC WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE THE PRINCIPLE OF MYLAN TO REPURCHASE THE UNITS [EXPLAINED IN THE PROSPECTOR DAILY WRITEUP].
