Comments on the reserve resource information

  • Q-MATRIX 1 IS THE IN-SITU TONNAGE, AND Q-MATRIX 2 REPRESENTS THE RECOVERABLE RESOURCE TONNAGE. FOR BOTH MATRICES, COL 1 IS THE BUFFELSFONTEIN SECTION, COL2 IS THE ELANDSDRIFT SECTION AND COL 3 IS THE COMBINED TONNAGE OF BOTH SECTIONS. ALL TONNAGE ESTIMATES ARE FROM AVAILIBILITY STUDY 1/89 AND USE THE 75 % PROBABILITY LEVEL. THE BUFFELSFONTEIN SECTION WAS ESTIMATED AT A 575 METER VERTICAL DEPTH AND FOR THE ELANDSDRIFT SECTION, A 300 METER VERTICAL DEPTH WAS USED. IN BOTH CASES, THE DEPTH MET THE LIMITS OF THE FARM BOUNDRY.
  • COMPRISED OF ELANDSDRIFT AND BUFFELSFONTEIN SECTIONS. TOTAL OF 700,000 MTPY ROM (445,000 FROM BUFFELSFONTEIN AND 255,000 FROM ELANDSDRIFT) FOR: 336,000 MTPY LUMP, 132,000 MTPY FINES AND 115,000 MTPY FOUNDRY SAND CONCS. ABOUT 90 PCT OF LUMP AND ALL OF FINES USED AT COS. KRUGERSDORP AND MIDDELBURG SMELTERS. ELANDSDRIFT= MIDDLE GROUP SEAM, 1.2 M THICK, DIP=14 DEGS. BUFFELSFONTEIN= LOWER GROUP SEAM, 1.2 M THICK, DIP=21 DEGS.
  • 1/89 INSITU DEMO. TONNAGE = TO 575 M VERT.FOR BUFFELSFONTEIN & TO 300 M VERT. FOR ELANDSDRIFT.80% AND 60% REC.,RESPECTIVELY.

Comments on other economic factors

  • THE U-RECORDS ARE SPLIT INTO TWO, ONE FOR EACH SECTION. THE FIRST IS THE BUFFELSFONTEIN SECTION AND THE SECOND REPRESENTS THE MINING RECORD OF THE ELANDSDRIFT SECTION. THE TWO SECTION RECOVERIES ARE 80 % AND 60 % FOR THE BUFFELSFONTEIN AND ELANDSDRIFT SECTION RESPECTIVELY, THE OVERALL MINE RECOVERY IS FOUND TO BE 71.3 %. LENGTH OF INCLINES WAS FOUND TO BE THE LENGTH DOWN DIP OF THE RESOURCE. THE TOTAL WORKINGS FOR BOTH SECTIONS IS THE NUMBER OF METERS NEEDED TO EXTRACT THE TOTAL RESOURCE AS DETERMINED BY THE 1/89 AVAILIBILITY STUDY.
