Deposit THERE ARE 9 SEAMS THAT MAKE UP THE DEPOSIT. HOWEVER, SEAMS 1,2, AND 3 APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN DE- PLETED. SEAMS 4&5 PROPOSED TO BE MINED AND SEAMS 6&7 ARE PRESENTLY BEING MINED. THE INDIVIDUAL SEAM LIFES ARE: SEAM SEAM SEAM SEAM SEAM #6&7 #8 #5 #4 #9 ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- (1980-2031) (2032-2060) (2061-2083) (2084-2102) (2103-2121) 52YR.LIFE 29YR.LIFE 23YR.LIFE 19YR.LIFE 19YR.LIFE SOUTH OF MARYLAND SIDING TO 8 KM. NORTH OF MARYLAND SIDING -(WEST SIDE OF DYKE). INFORMATION FROM 1981 INDICATES THAT RHODAL WAS PRODUCING FROM OPERATIONS IN THE MARYLAND AREA. THIS ANALYSIS TREATS A SINGLE SECTION OF THE GREAT DYKE- THE "MARYLAND SECTION" - AS ONE MINING UNIT. IN REALITY, MORE THAN ONE COMPANY MAY HOLD LEASES OVER THE SECTION DESCRIBED AND MORE THAN ONE COM PANY COULD BE PRODUCING SIMULTANEOUSLY FROM THE SECTION. TO ANALYZE THE GREAT DYKE FOR AVAILABILITY, IT WAS NECESSARY TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN A LOGICAL, COMPARTMENTALIZED FORMAT . HENCE, THE "MARYLAND SECTION: REFERS TO A 9 KM SECTION COVERING THE WEST LIMB OF THE GREAT DYKE SYNCLINE FROM ABOUT 1 KM SOUTH OF MARYLAND SIDING.
