  • BEISA PRIMARILY IS A URANIUM PRODUCER, WITH SHOW OF GOLD AS A BYPRODUCT. BEISA PRODUCTION BEGAN 1982, BUT BECAUSE OF POOR WORLDWIDE URANIUM PRICES, SHUTDOWN BEGAN MAY, 1984. NO FUTURE DATE IS FORESEEN TO BEGIN PRODUCTION AGAIN.

WILL MINE THE KALKOENKRANS REEF--EXPECTED FIRST PRODUCTION IN LATE 1991/EARLY 1992. 15,000,000 MT LOCATED ON THE OLD BEISA LEASE AREA (WILL REOPEN AND DEEPEN THE OLD BEISA SHAFT TO START); REMAINING ORE ON AREA TO THE EAST. WAS ANALYZED FOR THE 1992 AU AVAILABILITY STUDY. 1991 PROD.= 2,946 OZ AU FROM TREATING 79,000 TNS ORE.
