Relative position This placer gold prospect is on a south-flowing tributary of the East Fork Susitna River, about 7.3 miles from its junction with the Susitna River. The placer ground extends for an unknown distance upstream and downstream from the map site, which is approximately in the center of sec. 6, T. 18 S., R. 4 E., of the Fairbanks Meridian. The site is accurate to with 1 mile. .

  • Geologic Description = The area of the placer prospect is underlain by Quaternary alluvium, but the catchment basin of the creek contains Cretaceous tonalite, granodiorite, quartz diorite, diorite, and quartz monzodiorite (Wilson and others, 1998). The lode source of the placer gold is unknown.
  • Age = Quaternary.
