Relative position This prospect is a large block of patented claims (U.S. Mineral Survey No. 1320) about 2.5 miles long, generally oriented easterly and almost 1 mile wide. The claim block extends north into the foothills but is mostly on the upper coastal plain west of Sunset Creek (NM173). The block is inferred to be located on an intermediate and unnamed buried beach deposit on the coastal plain. The location used here is the approximate center of the claim block.
