Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = A small hillside placer gold mine was worked by hand methods in the head of a gulch to the east and south of the Lilly lode (NM189). The gulch contains locally derived quartz boulders. Although only low-grade material has been found at the Lilly and nearby prospects, these lodes likely contained some free gold that was the source of the hillside placer.
  • Age = Quaternary.
