Relative position The map site of this occurrence is at an elevation of 1,000 feet on the west side of Coal Valley. It is 0.1 mile due north of the top of hill 1185, in the N1/2 of sec. 7, T. 51 S., R. 73 W., of the Seward Meridian. This site is referred to as PMRGX-36 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 84). The location is accurate to within 2,500 feet.

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = At this site calcarenite and siltstone, probably belonging to the Lower Cretaceous Herendeen Formation, are cut by a diorite dike (Wilson and others, 1995). Two samples collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980s were reported to be anomalous in copper and zinc (Wilson and others, 1988).
