Relative position This occurrence is on the Alaska Peninsula east of Ivanof River. The map site is at an elevation of 1,500 feet, in the NE1/4 of sec. 16, T. 49 S., R. 65 W., of the Seward Meridian. It is referred to as SBRGX-52 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 26). The location is accurate to within 2 miles.

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This occurrence is probably in sedimentary units of the Lower Cretaceous Naknek Formation (Wilson and others, 1995). It consists of hornfelsed siltstone and sandstone (Wilson and others, 1988). One sample collected by the U.S. Geological Survey was reported to be anomalous in copper and silver.
