Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This occurrence consists of (a) galena-bearing quartz veins that cut mid-Paleozoic dolomite west of Wesley Creek, and (b) fine, placer gold in unminable quantities in the gravel of Wesley Creek (Reed, 1931). Prospect shafts on the placer failed to reach bedrock. Tremolite asbestos and gem-quality nephrite jade have been found near the head of Wesley Creek (Anderson, 1945).
  • Age = Quaternary (placer).
