Deposit THE LOWER 100 FEET AND UPPER 50 FEET IS CHARACTERIZED BY VERY MASSIVE BEDDING. MAXIMUM THICKNESS IS ABOUT 225 FEET AT A POINT SIX MILES EAST OF CEDARVILLE WHERE THE STRATA DIPS SOUTHWARD UNDER THE WATERS OF LAKE HURON. THE DOLOSTONE IS CHARACTERIZED BY ITS DISTINCTIVE WHITE OR LIGHT GRAY COLOR AND ITS UNIFORM CRYSTALLINITY. OVERBURDEN IN SOME AREAS IS 40 FEET.
