  • PER CONVERSATION WITH DOUG DANIELS FROM GEOLOGICAL SURVEY DIVISION, LANSING, MI 10-10-01 THIS LOCATION HAS OVER 400 ACRES OF SAND, BUT HAS NOT BEEN ACTIVELY MINED SINCE 1991 DUE TO THE COARSER SAND DEPOSIT. INDUSTRY IS CURRENTLY USING SMALLER AND SMALLER GRAINED SAND, COARSER SANDS ARE NOT CURRENTLY ECONOMICALLY AS IMPORTANT.
