Deposit KENNECOTT COPPER HAD A PROPOSED PLAN TO MINE THE FORMER LONG ROCK LANDS AS "BEAR CREEK" PROSPECT IN 1958, BUT RAN INTO HEAVY OPPOSITION FROM PEOPLE WHO OPPOSED A MINE IN PORCUPINE MOUTAINS PARK.
