  • The proposed Birch Lake mine site is approximately 16 kilometers southeast of Ely, Minnesota, with the claimed reserve area on the south side of the upper northeast arm of Birch Lake. The claim area extends from sections 5 and 8 of T 61 N, R 11 W, to sections 26 and 35 of T 62 N, R 11 W.
