Comments on the geologic information

  • Gravel bar and terrace underlain by coarse gravel. About 90 percent quartzite cobbles, 10 percent chert and novaculite. Gravel in creek bed is not used because of large percentage of oversize boulders.
  • Flat-lying beds. One to 3 feet of clay and soil overburden. In part mixed with the crushed gravel as binder.
