  • Preliminary War Minerals Memorandum. Samples from mineralized zone failed to yield presence of nickel or cobalt. Contains a lengthy report by an unidentified mining engineer as Strategic Minerals/Metals Statement of Facts.

  • In reference to this investigation, the location of the old Rabbitfoot mine was not found. This mine was reported in 1888 by state geologist to have millerite present.

  • Crest of ridge on east side of old river channel had 12 pits, each 5 feet in diameter and none over 4 feet deep. About 500 feet south of channel on west slope of ridge is an old untimbered shaft. Apparent dumps indicate shaft was probably 30 -40 feet deep. The pits are at intervals of 50-100 feet north of shaft.
