Preliminary War Minerals Memorandum. Samples from mineralized zone failed to yield presence of nickel or cobalt. Contains a lengthy report by an unidentified mining engineer as Strategic Minerals/Metals Statement of Facts.

Comments on the production information

In reference to this investigation, the location of the old Rabbitfoot mine was not found. This mine was reported in 1888 by state geologist to have millerite present.

Crest of ridge on east side of old river channel had 12 pits, each 5 feet in diameter and none over 4 feet deep. About 500 feet south of channel on west slope of ridge is an old untimbered shaft. Apparent dumps indicate shaft was probably 30 -40 feet deep. The pits are at intervals of 50-100 feet north of shaft.
